“In November 2016, Scottish Rugby were delighted to win the HR Network Award for Talent Management Programme of the Year. The award was the result of our partnership working with Steve and for the excellent work he has done in facilitating a bespoke programme for a unique organisation.”
— Head of HR, Scottish Rugby
Our Challenge
When we started working with Steve, we knew that we wanted to further develop our managers and leaders to become more effective and efficient. Scottish Rugby is a unique organisation; high performance sport requires high performance. We recognised that we needed a bespoke programme for our business. A flexible and adaptable programme that would engage and invigorate people as our business changes, was vital.
The Solution
From our initial meeting, Steve took the time to find out how our organisation worked, how our people operated, understanding our culture and business needs. Steve immersed himself in different parts of our business in order to gain this insight, helping him clearly understand what our requirements and expected outputs were. We presented Steve with a wide and specific scope of work. There was no question, this was a big task and quite a challenge in a relatively short timeframe.
Steve helped to bring our programme to life and facilitated it to a very high level. His ability to engage people means he can challenge them to do things differently
The Result
From the beginning Steve worked with us to understand how we would measure the effectiveness of the programmes. As a result our employee engagement has increased, staff are more motivated to perform at a higher standard, and performance has therefore increased.
Across Scottish Rugby we have more collaborative working across departments, business solutions that are created to benefit not only rugby across Scotland but our staff and customers. The programme has inspired people to think differently and challenged them to deliver more, to a higher standard.
